Anxiety

Anxiety: A state of trying to get control over something you actually can't control.

These days, anxiety is quite common. Some have always known their anxious tendencies, while for others it's more difficult to spot … but it’s there, nonetheless.

In this post-Covid world, people seem more anxious than ever before, and it manifests in numerous, unhealthy ways.

So, what do we do about it?

Stop trying to get rid of it, & learn how it presents itself in your life.

Instead of constantly trying to get rid of your anxiety, which only makes it worse (resistance equals persistence),  try to take notice of your tendencies & point them out every time you spot them.

Instead of continuing to allow yourself to be unconscious, & thus subjecting others around you to your dysfunctional ways, start to examine yourself a bit closer.

For the sensitive people who tend to generally run anxious, as opposed to just having situational anxiety, you’re not going to be able to get rid of the anxiety, so stop trying.

This is the first step in helping your anxiety subside. Second, is in realizing what's underneath it.

Beneath anxiety are real feelings.

Anxiety & anxiousness aren’t real feelings, they are psychological states, not emotional ones.

Feelings of helplessness & being out of control are usually there. Deep sadness & grief can be present as well.

We must find our way toward expressing these feelings if we’re going to ease our burden with anxiety.

Struggling with anxiety and looking for a long term solution, rather than suffering and quick ineffective fixes? DM a little about what’s going and maybe we can discuss it.
