Tough Times

I was thinking recently that whenever I’ve gone through tough times, I’ve always made a vow to myself that I’d use that time wisely.

Most of us have been through tough times, and we’ve likely done various things during those times that haven’t been so productive or healthy.

I’m not being critical of anyone who’s engaged in destructive habits during tough times in their lives, but what I am saying, is that for those who are able to, it would be smart to use that time wisely.

Everyone does the best they can with the tools that they have, so there’s no judgement coming from me. However, if you’re someone who has the drive to grow, these difficult periods of your life are the times to do it.

I never want to go through a challenging time in my life where I come out of it without new skills, new awareness, new habits, new commitments & new structures to go along with it.

For me, I’d probably have regret that I wasted that valuable time.

Tough times are the exact times to be focusing on personal growth. Often, these moments can illuminate the things we should be focusing on improving, that we weren’t previously aware of.

Whether it’s a global pandemic, which is out of our control, or something self-inflicted, where we’ve created a mess of something, times of stress & tension are fertile ground for increased awareness, focus & attention.

Next time you’re going through a rough period, make a vow with yourself to see it through with a new commitment to grow, heal & develop.

Are you going through a tough time in your life and are looking for help to find your way through it? I’d be happy to help if you’re brave enough to open up & share with me. DM or email me a little about what’s going on.
