Dream vs. Fantasy

We cannot go back to who we once were, we can only look to create that which we commit to each day moving forward.

One cannot recapture a lost youth, but we can seek to regain a sense of innocence by healing past trauma.

We also cannot go back to an adolescence where we once thought we were confident, bold or self-assured, for example. We can certainly seek to develop those characteristics, but we must know that this adolescent hasn’t been through the life we have lived. They haven’t had failed marriages & businesses; they haven't lost money or love like we have. They haven’t been connected with all the feelings from trauma of the past or embarked on a path of healing.

What was that adolescent basing their confidence on?

They haven’t been through anything, other than surviving growing up.Another “Core Confusion” is Dream vs. Fantasy.

Our fantasies keep us from achieving our dreams. They don’t live in the real world. They are not possible & they only live in our heads. They are a solution to a self-worth issue.

Dreams, however, are very possible. They are based in reality & come from the deepest & truest part of ourselves. They are backed by our history, our skill-set, & the fact that others can see this possibility in us.

“Our fantasy’s have to die, in order for our dreams to come true.”
