Keep the child alive

Science has never proven this, however through my own observation and personal experience, having a child-like spirit within us is a powerful contributor/elixir to good health.

Don’t ask me to test this hypothesis or back it up with references. It just seems evident.

By child-like spirit, I’m referring to the unquenchable ability to play and be effervescent. It’s the infectious energy that affects others in the best way.

This is not to be confused with it’s counterpart, childish, which as an adult is quite a repellent.

I’ve always had this inner child-like spirit intact within me, however throughout my own personal healing journey, I’ve addressed many essential things that allow this part of me to remain intact, and even grow in capacity.

As its been told to me, instead of having a child, I apparently opted for a child-like sprit ... a spiritual child that inhabits me. No diapers to change and no hefty financial concerns. No sleepless nights. However, it's proven very difficult to brag about and show pictures of my inner child.

Sadly, this spirit isn’t always present or robust in many people.

For some, it could have been an early trauma that squelched or even severed this inner-child connection.

For others, it might have been a habitual way of being, where play wasn’t a big part of daily life. Maybe while growing up, an early demand, burden or responsibility was required instead.

With all that life can be, having a child-like spirit seems to help take the sting off of life’s punches, and gives us the essential ability to take things a little less seriously.
