The Maori are coming in October

For those who don’t know, Maori are the indigenous people of New Zealand. A few of them are my teachers in the therapeutic style of bodywork that we do.

Interpreting and understanding why our bodies are having to deal with the issues within is not easy.

If the body is a communication center that harnesses all kinds of messages for us to connect with, this bodywork is the vehicle to help us make that connection easier.

In this culture, it seems more prevalent to place importance on thinking, rather than feeling. We’ve built layers of protection to help insulate us from deeper aspects of pain held within our bodies.

Doing this creates a chasm of separation between our minds and bodies, making it very difficult for us to listen to the body's communications in what it needs to heal and thrive.

I came across this type of therapeutic bodywork during a time when I had to dig deep in finding my way through difficult times. My therapeutic process consisted of excellent coaching partnered with this style of bodywork. It helped me in a myriad of ways.

It helps me cleanse my body of mental, emotional and psychic junk I’ve been holding onto.

It helps me connect with and heal buried physical and emotional pains of my past that would otheriwse inhibit my current life.

It helps connect me with deeper aspects of myself, with others and the world around me.

Along with the physical and emotional healing this work can provide, my main teacher, Ata will be specifically focused on helping woman heal. Her focus on doing this is with past trauma, women based health and body issues, as well as a unique gift with fertility issues.
