People choose the level of coaching or healing, to the degree that they can handle it
Remember, the truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off ... & good coaching & healing will definitely do that - it might not feel good, but it’s certainly good for you.
Some things can't be explained, they must be felt
This is certainly true for my work, especially the bodywork portion of it. I saw a new client recently & this inspiring subject came up ... I can share how Maori healing bodywork is like deep tissue massage & that it helps people to connect emotionally, so sometimes you can cry, laugh hysterically or even get really pissed off - but that doesn’t really do it justice.
Never stop being a student
No matter how much of an expert you are at something, it’s important to learn how to come from the place of being a student to someone else’s expertise & teaching. It’s also powerful to continually learn to allow yourself the feelings that come with being vulnerable when learning something difficult. I think the vulnerability that one feels when going through that beginning learning curve, causes us to be continually humbled…
How is your relationship with your health and body going?
Think of the question as if Im talking about an actual person you’re in a relationship with & someone asks you the same kind of question.
How would you answer it?🤔
Journal this out.
Why do some people separate their physical pain and health issues, from who they're being & their mental/emotional pain?
Isn’t that a disconnection issue to think that one thing doesn’t affect the other?
Stop downplaying the physical effects that depression and anxiety have on the body
Justin Bieber fans, don’t kill me for talking about our boy, I’m a belieber & just want to bring to light a very important subject.
Somatic Therapy
Let’s work, massage, move, adjust, provoke & challenge your muscles, fascia, joints, tendons, ligaments & listen for all the powerful intimate, emotional communications & trauma that are stored & sometimes buried in your body - that is Somatic healing/therapy. Let’s pay close attention & listen for these golden communications as they spill out of you. Forget studying a book where we can read where certain thoughts, feelings & energies are typically stored…
You can't do enough, in order to be enough
This line arose out of a conversation between myself & a couple of clients of mine. If you’re feeling like you’re not enough, no amount of success is going to change that. You can’t count on doing more, creating more or earning more in order to feel like you’re enough - you can’t solve an emotional issue with a physical solution.
Have you ever heard of the pain-body or the energetic body?
To keep it simple, it’s the place I’m affecting when I work with people; it’s the area where our emotions are connected to the body. While doing the sort of bodywork that I practice, I was taught to work 5% more than someone can handle, because that’s where the change(magic)takes place.
The body expresses itself 100% of the time, regardless of what we do
Meaning, regardless of how much we try & rationalize our feelings away, our bodies store a kind of truth in how we really feel deep down inside. Rationalizations are the minds way of trying to trick the body into how to feel; the body doesn’t communicate in rationalizations, only the mind is capable of that.
What do you do with your sadness & grief?
For some, they’re in touch with these feelings, while for others, they’re disconnected from them or choose to suppress them.
For those of you who are connected to these feelings, are you being creative & contributing them in constructive or destructive ways?
Tears Of Grief And Relief
Tears of grief and relief?
Read on ..
A client recently shared with me while crying tears of grief and relief how they have spent the last 20 or so years of their life mourning the loss of a certain part of themselves.
...that young innocent part that was full of possibility.
